St. Anastasia Intermediate students continue to develop their communication, cooperation and problem-solving skills while engaging in hands-on, collaborative activities with classmates. Our third graders are in self-contained classrooms, while our fourth and fifth graders are divided between two teachers and two classrooms. All intermediate students participate in physical education, art, music (3-4), band or choir (5), Spanish, guidance and media and technology courses.
Religion is taught daily and is incorporated within daily lessons to ensure consistent progress toward an acurate, thorough understanding of the faith. The third-grade program of the Christ Our Life series, We Believe, presents the main truths Catholics believe and express in the Apostles’ Creed. The fourth-grade program of the Christ Our Life series, God Guides Us, focuses on the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes as guides for living. The fifth-grade program of the Christ Our Life series, We Worship, focuses on the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, the center of Christian life. A variety of technological tools and programs including desktop computers, apps, iPads, and Google Suite are utilized to support different learning styles and to facilitate classroom lessons.
St. Anastasia Catholic School’s curriculum aligns with the Academic Standards of the Diocese of Palm Beach in combination with Florida State Standards. At the heart of a Catholic education, however, is an approach that nurtures the whole person — academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We evaluate all our approaches, methods, resources, and curriculum materials with the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools and the Florida Catholic Conference.
